Hello, lovely people. I’m Kim (she/her) – please don't address me as Ms Watt, it's alarmingly grown-up and I'll start thinking you're trying to sell me life insurance – and I write strange, magical tales that offer a little escape from the serious stuff in the world and hopefully leave you a wee bit happier than you were when you started. Because happiness, like friendship, matters.

My stories are about tea-drinking dragons solving mysteries in sleepy Yorkshire villages, about snarky feline PIs, and detective inspectors with caffeine-dependant invisible dogs.

They're about ladies of a certain age being their wonderful, formidable selves, baking-obsessed reapers setting up baby ghoul petting cafes, and gender-nonconforming trolls redefining trollness for the modern age. They're about friendship, and loyalty, and lifting each other up, and the importance of tea and cake and truly bad jokes.

But mostly they're about how wonderful people (of all species) can really be.

I’d love to hear from you with your thoughts, comments, favourite cake recipes, plans for world domination, or just to say hi – jump in the form below (you won't be subscribed to anything), email me at kim@kmwatt.com, or come and join me on the social medias for more cats, tea, and dragons!

Read on, lovely people!
