How Useful

The egg arrived in the usual way, via the supermarket delivery.

But that was the only usual thing about it.

Not that Nora can throw it out. Of course not! It's warm, and moves sometimes, and maybe it's a duck, or an ostrich, or a crocodile, but one can't just abandon it. One has to protect those in one's care.
